Helmet colouring .....

... did this colour stay throughout the war or did it get darker? The gasmask filter is the same, dated aug 17, the helmet is a leather M16.

I think the paint is still the same. Or I have a problem with my eyes.

I saw (very) different tones of color on M.16s, but this paint is characteristic of the early ones ; I had one very similar in color, but a little more darker though. Maybe yours was cleaned, I mean some surface rust removed ? That may explain the very light green here. Very nice lid !

Regarding paints, I'll try to post some scans ASAP.

Hi, it seems to be the original color, the inside is the exact same tone of green.

Excellent Shot

First of all that an excelent shot of the m16+gasmask.I have many m16s,its a bit lighter paint than im used to ,but i am sure it is genuine,James/Ireland

Color looks great to me. I have had shells that have a little of this early color left on them, wish I had one as nice as this one! I had a size 60 m16 with about 30 percent of this early color left. Cute little sucker with the lugs sticking out like horns.
