    Czech Vz.32 double german decals

    Hi,

As it's my first post let me introduce myself:
Cyril, 25, Archeologist, French (needless to say that my English can be broken sometimes).

I'm mainly collecting military helmets from 1918 to 1945. As archeology is not the most well-paid job in the world, I have pretty much no serious knowledge about German helmets. I can tell the differences between a M35, M40 and M42 but that's about it.

Well back to the topic, I don't know why but I really love Czech helmets.
I was looking for a cheap Vz.32 when I found one on Ebay Germany.
The pics were crappy and the decal screamed so heavily that they were faked that the final price was good, very good .

After a few days I finally got it in my mailbox. I wanted to remove the decals and the last layer of paint to put it back in it's original configuration. But as I was watching it closely, I had some doubts. As I have said I have never held a german helmet with good decal in my hands but I had a good feeling about them.
So I posted my helmet in a French militaria forum (mcollec) and thanks to them I have never touched it since them.
There was no consensus about it but on average they were thinking that it could be a good one.

Now less talking and more pics:

    Before cleaning it:

As you can see the national colors are really blurry/faded.

After gently cleaning it with soapy water.

No surprise about the rest, just your standard Vz.32.

I would like to know several things:
    _ Authenticity
_ I have seen several reissued Czech helmets here but who was using double decal helmets? German auxiliaries, 2nd line troops? Anyway I suppose that it was before 1940.
_ Was that particular shade of green in regular German service? Again I'm a total noob in German militaria so it's a good way to learn a little more

    Thanks for any help.

I dont like that eagle at all, and the tricolour looks hand painted? On closer inspection I'm pretty sure the tricolour was made with stencils and sprayed on. I'd be interested in others opinions too. The paint on helmets varied from maker to maker, and at different stages of the war. You will soon pick up the important points using this forum, welcome.
