German Helmet

removed tricolour

[ROBB]

This is an ET64 marked 4047 on the skirt .Double Decal m35 with the tricolour having been removed probably has 75% of the paintwork left .Your thoughts are welcome good or bad .Rob

The liner looks like a very looose fit?? Why does it not fit snug around the inside??

I would have concerns with the Heer decal which lacks depth. The uniform abbrasive nature of the superficial damage appears deliberate. Similarly I would also have issue with the liner which has signs of angular kinking.

My opinion on this one..


I don't like the eagle. Look at the head of the decal, it looks more like a chicken and not like a proud Eagle.To me this one looks like a well known fake. Also lack of detail and depth like Billy said concerns me. (take a look at the feet and claws)

Liner could been taken out, but can also be loose due to age.

Helmet looks just fine to me, I think the liner was probably war time replaced but other than that it looks just fine. The decal looks fine also and typical of the early war M35 decals. $400.00 seems like a good price for a helmet in this condition.

Hi guys thanks for the replies ,I think the helmet has had a replacement liner ,but I think it was period done as the washers and rivets appear to be untouched for a long time ,the misshape to the liner I put down to the helmet being carried by the strap which has pulled the inner edges in a bit .I' pretty sure the decal is 100% looks like its been painted around,there appears to be the reminents of whitewash around the vent holes .I think the helmet might have been whitewashed at some stage and then it was all removed ,and perhaps the decal was once painted over as well at one stage .Anyway due to England winning at football price is reduced to $350 ,take care Rob.
