Very nice original paint in the Austrian brown color, unlike the german green. There were pads in the liner,and a canvas chin strap which was leather reinforced called the Model 1917..wfg

This is actually a between-the-wars reissued Austrian M16 helmet...discernable by the domed rivet heads and the reinforced liner tongues. So...not of WW1 vintage but certainly pre-WW2 and a nice helmet.

Peter, an identical example is shown in Marzetti, 7.31.
The chinstrap would have been leather.

$400 is the price for the helmet.

Austrian helmets have a number stamped into the top of the helmet on the outside.I think you can just make something out in your picture.Try knocking the seller down to $350.Rob
