leather condition doesn't match the wear on the band imo, looks better than most repro's though....

The steel band is OK. Not sure about the leather part. Looks like a nice aged modern repro to me.

The string is bad too.

are there any markings underneath the liner? the green felt is typicall of later war re-issue types where they pieced leather together. I have seen this many times before!

IMO both leather and band are fakes /repro. Sorry but the rust is IMO fresh and chemically made. It is not natural rust.
