Question about Liners

Does anyone know what year production of the early style M31 liners with the sharp D rings ceased? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Justin generally 1940, I believe. But they were used as surplus into the early 1940s on zinc liner bands.

Thanks Ty. I have an M40 with the early liner and I was having trouble seeing the date. Just wanted to make sure there were M40's out there with the early style liners.

Yes, definitely that is ok. I would have some concern if a M40 had an early aluminum liner with a date before 1940.

Occasionally you'll find a '40 with a round bale and a square bale...

I found the liner date, it is indeed a 1940. Perry thats intersting on the bales.
