    M1916 stahlhelm

Hi everyone, My first post and looking forward to chatting. I need some advice. I am thinking about sending my M1916 stahlhelm to a fellow named Jacob Caputo @ Alexander & Sons to do some work for me. Has he done work for any of you guys? He seemed very professional and prompt in answering emails. Any advise or other sources would be very much appreciated. Regards, Vanski

what kind of work are you thinking of doing on your M16? it could benefit you to post some pics and consider others' advice here. doing anything with an original item to "enhance" it, by repainting it or refitting it with a repro liner, etc, is a no no with most collectors, and i agree.

on another note, you may do as you wish. Jacob Caputo sells on eBay. i've dealt with him several times and he is a stand up guy. i never had him do any work on my helmets though so i can't give you advice there.

Thanks for the reply. My stahlhelm is original paint outside and I love the look. I only want him to re-do the inside paint (which has no liner) because it was surface rusted and had black paint runs all over the inside. I also want him to install a re-po liner as I believe it will be almost impossible to find an original liner. It is a TJ68. How do I post the pics?

get your pics online elsewhere, mediafire or photobucket etc, and copy the image url into the insert image tool above the text box
