I didn't say it was fake. I said it was JUNK. It very well might be real. I just don't like this relic stuff. You couldn't give me anything in this condition. If you did give me something like this, I'd pitch it in the trash.

This one is fine. The decals show bubbles, I see its the same as mine ss helmet that I found.

the conditions of the decals and of the lid seem to match, it also seesm it was cleaned a lot, this by the looks of the liner ring. The runic decal seams to be a Pocher, seams ok, cant say anything about the party shield.

So far I dont see anything I dont like about artificial aging so it may have a chance......

Unless it comes from an honest relic hunter like Spin or Sturm, and you dont have solid provenance, its a leap of fiath.

I would contact one of them for a relic SS........

I would like to see some real close up shots of the decal and party shield.
Im 51% with and 48% against. How about that for good maths work.

bubbles in rust

Hard to say. No huge red flags from here but I'd only want to say yes or no after seeing it in hand under USB.

Doug my dear. If you look at the decals, you will see that there is a lot of bubbling rust with bubbles not burst/heads of bubbles broken off, yet the areas around the helmets decals are all pitted. The other areas around the decals are pitted not bubbled.Also, the red on the party shield looks like an orange colour. I ve noticed that ground DOUG helmets have a lighter coloured paint and decals .
Just an observation that i thought i would share with you my dearest.

Yes dear Norm, good observations. I examined a couple ground Doug helmets I believed to be real, that the party decal was faded almost like how a red fades to orange in sunlight. These are tricky dicky indeed and I would shy away unless the source was A1 or I Doug the thing up meeself.

Yeah were on the same page Bob. I'd only trust a ground dug SS I dug up myself or got from a good source like Sturm here on the forum who records his digs.

Won't be at the Max Bob unless it's a last minute decision. Otherwise should be at SOS and can see you there!
