I got this from a vet's estate, but really have no proof that he brought it back, as I used to see him hanging out at the local auctions.
Looks like the vet had it sitting on his garage workbench when he decided to spray paint something next to it silver, so there is overspray on the helmet. This seems so typical of the stunts vets pulled back when a helmet like this was worth $5.00, that I decided it was likely real.
The finish is rough textured and fairly complete. The decal has rust-through in spots, but not much gold toning. The liner is very clean (too clean?) and has some feldgrau paint on it.
Thanks in advance for any opinions on it. If it gets sunny here, maybe I can take some clearer pics outside.
