I recently picked up this M40 Q66 lot # 11571 at the Jefferson County Military show. The liner band date is obscured by dust/dirt but it is the single steel band with the rounded bales. It appears to have had a shield removed from the right side of the helmet (scraped). Was this an SS at one time or is it my imagination ?

As said in another forum.....it has a lot number and size match to another SS and everything else fits so presumably you have an SS.Comment
