M40 - Q64 - Field overpaint - NAMED - Opinions?

Hello, all.....

This helmet comes to me this week, courtesy of member Adam S.

It's a named M40 - Q64, with what appears to be a field overpaint. The paint is almost black but appears almost dark green in the right light.

As always, I am grateful for your learned opinions and comments.

Helmet looks fine to me. Can you see any evidence it has or had a decal?

I've seen that helmet several trimes before. I remember it because I know someone with that last name. Maybe it was here, maybe it was on ebay.

I tried to take photos, buy they don't show the very faint outline of what appears to be a decal, under the paint.

I knew I'd seen it before! Nice helmet. I think helmets with thick brush strokes look really cool. Having a name is an added bonus.
