When people are selling a liner...

What happened to the helmet? why would a liner be out of a helmet? were they stockpiled somewhere and people are finding them...of course I am referring to liners for m35's, 40's and 42's...I see these on the e-stand and it intrigues me.

I imagine the minty ones are pulled from leftover stocks. The close to mint ones pulled from post war used fire/civic duty used German helmets. The more used ones probably come from post war ruined helmets. A helmet that was sanded and painted black, or bright green, or red.....whatever, but basicaly ruined. Then theres all the used ones that came out of Norweigan post war used German helmets. The earliest versions of these had the original liners and chinstraps in untouched German configuration (not dyed).

Thanks Paul, now I have some idea of where and why.

But its also profithunters that butcher no decal helmets for parts.
Sometimes you can make more money selling a helmets in parts.
        Sad but true.

        Liner 200 $
        strap 200$
        splitpinns 100$
        shell 100$

thats 600$ , and if you can get a ND helmet for 300-400$.

even if my prices might be not correct there is still profit to make.

But I hope they all burn i hell

        Best regards

I agree. I have taken a few liners from non-salvageable helmets, biker helmets, post war polished helmets etc, with a good liner from a totally ruined shell. I might also pull out a liner from a shell, if i can see the liner has been replaced, but only if i feel like the liner is needed elsewhere.
