Help identifying helmet

Can anyone tell me anything about it? I've not seen any others even remotely similar.. there is a mesh screen that fills the hole (not sure of the name, i'm new to this) on the upper part of the helmet.

Other then the "5B" stamp on the lining, I cannot find any other marks.

Its an M34 squardip firemans helmet.

So some of these types of helmets were not made with the pepper shaker holes?
