M40 Police/ss helmet

Hi

I'm interested in buying this police helmet. Not sure but I guess that this is a police/ ss unit helmet. Because of the following 2 things.
First this helmet was found togheter with a M40 SD SS helmet.
And second if you look at the outside the condition of the helmet, paint, decals, looks rather good+. And the liner looks very well used. I think this helmet had a cover attached during the war. Also as you can see the liner is repaired with ss cover canvas. I think this is a real interesting helmet. Some shrapnel damage on the rear. Shell is stamped ET 66. Decals are already discussed in an other thread

What do you think??

I think the shell and the liner match well as in the color of the aging. The helmet wasn't stored properly and the liner dried out alot then started to crack. As for the repair job on the liner, I think it gives it a great character. Nothing wrong with this one.

I agree with Gooch jr an excellent helmet with a lot of history and character ,bet its not cheap ,I guess $1100 +/- Rob
