Weekend M42 Find

Just picked up this nice M42 helmet this weekend, I bought it from her son. She (thats right, she) as the story goes picked it up in Paris from the building that later became the US embassy until we were kicked out of France. There is a feldpost number written in pencil in the liner, it would be interesting to see if it belonged to a unit that was in the area. As the story goes she was OSS, spent 34 years later working for the CIA. She is 93 and still alive today. Always neat to see if a story matches up with an item, sadly they almost never do. Thoughts?

Great helmet, but US embassy has never been kicked out of France, like you say !
It was a political disagreement about OTAN military bases, so avoid consider French as stingy

That's great. Make sure you write down ALL of her history concerning her time in the OSS/CIA. Try to include a photo of her during WWII. It will all be worth it in the end.
