    Quist KM Decal ok?

Hi guys, I'm such a klutz and have asked the moderator to move this post to the correct place - sorry! I am seriously thinking of bidding on this KM helmet in a non internet (real live in person type auction) auction. They tell me it has been verified by their militaria expert as authentic but he's missed things before (like Norwegian stained liners) so I'm unsure. I have one super SE KM helmet already but the Quist decal is a different shade of gold - what do you guys think please? I think it might be ok as it's a Quist and their KM decals are a little unusual. I hate to bother you all but Ken N's great book doesn't have a picture of a Quist KM M40 so I wondered.
    Thanks heaps guys
    all opinions much appreciated
    Marcus

IMO not a Km as far as I can tell from that photo.

              Hi,

The decal is one of the latest copies. They call it the yellow copy.

              Regards, Mario

It certainly does not exhibit the rich textured qualities of an original.

ALSO note that the dings on the decal are the only 'fresh' looking dings on the whole helmet. BAD sign.

Looks like I'll skip the "KM"....what about this DD luft they are also auctioning, also bad? I personally think the national colours are fine but the eagle is no good - what do you guys think?
                      Thanks everyone for the feedback

Helmet has been cleaned IMO - here's a close up of the bird.

Where are you finding these for sale?
Somebody is going to get ripped off...

Thanks everyone very much for your opinions - I won't be attending the sale with a paddle then
Marlow's auction house - not worth a look.
                              Cheers everyone
