Black SS helmet

Hi Guys,

Is this a black SS helmet Shell? Paint is original , Maker stamped Q64 and serial numbered 737 to rear.

Did any other services use Black M35 helmets?

Someone probably added fake decals on this lid and someone else removed them again, but the black paint is definitely not original

Thanks guys for the info, In may not look like it in the photos but the paint does look original when you hold it in your hand ,especially to the inside.

would the serial number at the back 737 not help identification?

Looks like there could be Luft grey colour paint under the black? Difficult to say.

Hi Adam,

just looks like base metal under the black ,no traces of any other colour at all especially around the inside gromets where you would expect to see traces of another colour.

1 ss olt alu buckle
1 m42 dak sd helmet..tan inside..hmmm
1 set obersturmfuhrer straps
1 runic patch..
1 handschar patch..
1 ss nco allgemeine cap..
via his friend john from edinburgh..
who bought it direct from SSLAH and SS HJ DIV vet..
austrian 80s fake..
and several SS sleeve diamonds..
all SS insignia came from well known , author..
or c... gordon williamson..
so i feel i should post this information..
ps..

i was in shop when he passed it off..

he for sure had doubts about SS insignia from williamson
again i was in shop when williamson produced titles
with story , oh i got them from ex-ss vet ..
but there was other items from AUTHOR that were proved
wrong beforehand
