What is it ? and used for: Helmet insigna ? or other equipement ?

dimensions are:

4,2 cm / 3,4 cm

Stamp???

Greetings: Off the top of my head it looks like it could be a stamp or die for a helmet decal. That's my best guess.

Looking at it,I think Zeke cut be right,this cut very well be a stamp to make the Helmet decals.

Both reversed decals and direct decals were produced. This stamp would have applied the ink to the transfer paper.

no not for helmet decals they were silk screened
