Question on M34 Shell

Saw this dull black M34 with Luftschutz decal, correct type liner with pad and tabs for neck guard, the shell was heavier then other ones I've seen before and it looked like cast aluminum, no camera with me and it's part of bunch of stuff so no price on it alone. Any thoughts on the shell.

Kind of tough to help without a pic as there are so many variations with the M34 series civilian helmets. I have M34 LS helmets in aluminum, but they are very lightweight and are stamped, not cast. The paint tends to range in somewhat darker shades Vs. the steel counterparts (even in the blue shades) probably from the paint reacting with the shell over the years. I'll try to post an image of a M34 with an aluminum shell later this weekend that you can use as a rough comparator.
