Can judge on the decal, but what is the number/mark on the chinstrap ( pic #4)?
Looks like a serial number,no?
I would like to see a close-up of it as well if possible.

Looks like a bad 2nd pattern from here. Looks like a Q shell to me, too.

Here's a close up of the decal, to me its evenly worn just like the rest of the helmet. Somebody touched up one chip in the left corner of the left rune as you look at it in the picture with a blue pen in 1/32" chip.

It almost looks like new impressions?

I would say BW stands fo BundesWehr which is the army of (West) Germany

To me it looks like the helmet is repainted. After that a water decal has been placed on top of the paint.
