    DAK eagle-shield in gold?

Forgive me my lack of knowledge on following matters, but it's not my area at all.

I found following things on a well known flea-market in Brussels on my way home this morning from work.

If I'm correct, the 5 small wings are used on luftwaffe collartabs. And the shield is used on a DAK-helmet, right?
Now, weren't these shields normally silver colored? Could these also become more goldish due aging? Or is this a variant?
I have to say that the gold shine is much more clear in real as the scan shows

    Any input is highly appriciated!

    Cheers

Hi Jan, you are correct about the collar tab wings or "gulls" as they are sometimes refered to as.
The tropical helmet sheild may well be a KM one if it is has a gilt finish.
    Well done!
    Cheers, Ade.

Jan, I am no insignia specialist, but I happen to own several AK shields, and the one you posted seems to be of very poor quality, and may be a fake in my opinion.

Thank JL! Thats what I noticed too the first I compared it with others ( originals), it could be very well a reproduction..I haven't got a clue. I picked these insignia up for 1 Euro, so it was almost free...

          Cheers

In that case, I am almost certain it is a repro. Lets see what some others say.

The price is not a criteria here...because the guy didn't even know what it was. He was an Algerian 'Antique-seller', mainly offering carpets and old furniture. This stuff was lying in a small box together with old books, candles and LEGO-toys.

I would like to have an opinion regardless the price.

              Cheers

                Sorry Jan,
this is noway a K.M. shield (they have no raised border to the shields, eagle or tri-colour), and due to the poor quality i would also say that it is a reproduction
