hey there i am planning on buying this helnet
it is used to make a fool of collaborators at the end of the war
there is a lot to see onthe helmet

Helmet looks good and especially with this story I'd go for it if the price is right.
Unique timepiece of the liberation days, in my view.

Nice to see my helmet to pop up on the forum. Yes i'm selling it. It's a real honest helmet and was a former camo helmet.
After the war the helmet at the ouside painted over in a "Kermit the Frog" green, which i carefully removed. This is the result. The Swas are 100% original to the helmet and probably added in spring 1945 at the liberation.

He are nice phot of a similar helmet,

these type of events happend all over europe and the Netherlands aswell.

These so call "bevrijdings optochten"( translation Libaration parade's )
collaborators ( Foute mensen ) where shaved in public, put in the bad spotlight and sometimes severe molested by the people of the resistance & others.
I have searched for a few pics with these parade's on my PC.
A lot of "nice" original stuff was used and painted with text and other stuff.
There is not much known and photo grafed of these parade's because the most of the photo camera's where taken by the germans.
here are a few taken in my home town back in the day's ( may '45 )

nice pics you have but what i dont understand is why they made nazi parades to umilliate the collaborators seeing at these pictures they shure look nazi

Im gonna explain my self in dutch cause it seems that there are "only" ( sorry ApathyL ) dutch people reading this thread anyway.

De Nederlanders hielden optochten met wagens en marsen en schutterijen en wat daar van over was natuurlijk. Hier werden de nazi's te kijk gezet en belachelijk gemaakt. Het ziet er inderdaad nog al pro dutis uit, maar probeer eens te kijken naar die mensen op die wagen en met die handen omhoog.
Het eerste wat je opvalt dat het meerendeel een klein snorretje draagt. Hoeveel duitse wehrmacht foto's ken jij waar de soldaat een klein snorretje draagt... niet zo gek veel. Er was een veel bekender figuur met een klein snorretje. Snappie.

De foto's zijn niet van super kwaliteit, maar het geeft een indruk.
