Here is a new arrival which adds to my collection of Normandy helmets. It is an NS 66 M35 Reissue SD which has had an additional coat of green paint applied to the exterior, covering the Heer decal. The liner band is 1940 dated. The original net hooks are still in place. I'm sure this helmet was adorned w/ a regulation net at one time, but it is long gone. The helmet is named to an Uffz. and the FP Nr 20361 is clearly visible. This most likely places this helmet w/ the 942nd Grenadier Regiment of the 353rd Division. This unit saw action in Normandy starting in late June 1944, again at St Lo and was decimated in the Falaise Pocket during Operation Cobra

Nice Andy, congrats.
You should find a copy of Normandy 1944 by Niklas Zetterling. Has alot of info on your division(all the units that fought in the Normandy battles).
A small overview,
The 942nd G. Rgt. spent quite some time with the 243 Infantry Division in late June early July.
The division was able to break out of the La Balaine pocket then later the Falaise pocket with a OKH estimate on Sept. 1 of 5,000 men left, losing around 7,000 men in Normandy.
