    Luftschutze helmet, wich country?

    Hi everybody!!

I saw this helmet, I was wondering what country it is from.. Is it a postwar helmet (used after the war) or a wartime helmet?

    Kind Regards,
    Dennis

Jan thank you for the thread! So this one is a Bulgarian Luftschutze helmet made by Germany!
Maybe some one knows what these are worth? Theodor? Maybe I'm going to bid on this one

              Kind Regards,

                Hi Dennis,

Yes, this is a Bulgarian Luftschutz helmet. I feel uncomfortable to talk about it, because I know the seller very well .... very very very well...
Anyway, I have a similar in my collection, so decided to let this one go.
That's right, they were made in Germany for Kingdom Bulgaria. Not quite sure when were delivered, but for sure not later than the summer of 1944. These helmets were used in the WWII, on the side is the decal of the Bulgarian unit PVHZ /as written over the decal/ - ProtivoVazdushna i Himicheska Zashtita /Anti-Air and Chemical Defense/. This unit as far as I know had similar functions to the German Luftschutz, not quite sure but some locals say it was a department of the Royal Police. Still have much to research on them, but for sure were delivered from Germany during WWII and maybe also a little before it...
As for the cost - hard to say. On the local antique market /here in Bulgaria/, when available they sell for 20-40-50 Euro, depending on condition /the lowest price mentioned is for very rusty or repainted, the highest, for well preserved, though it is not a rule, does not mean that with lots of luck a nice won't be 20 Eur and a piece of junk - 50 /. On Ebay - observations from the US Ebay - hard to say, I have seen very different prices, from 50 to 120$ for complete helmets in similar conditions. To be honest I don't hope to get too much over what I gave for it before, my hopes are for 50-60 Euro, though may be less or more... the market is a strange place

I think I said it all in a too complex way Please don't get me wrong, I've let it go for one Euro, this is its own life, whatever happens to it

Now I nearly said you're stupid Very sorry, this is not the idea, not at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please again understand me right, the high prices that I mentioned are Ebay prices, and as we all know sometimes the things sell there for more than they are worth... I just do not know.... That is why it begins at 1 with the hope to get what once spent for it and if reach more - so far so good
