Hernn,
I want to start a little debate about te following thing. Although some collectors say that the Quist firm produced M42's, i never saw one in the 20 years that Y collect German helmets. Bear staded this conjecture is his book (pag. 298 top) Here some photo's of a M40 produced by Quist in 1944. The liner has never been removed and is stamped 1944. The inside of the leather is stamped 3-44 and Rbn. 0/0250/0917. (see also Bear pag. 321)The most interesting feature is (imo) the location of the firm stamp. This is also to see in late M42's.
My questions: When did this location changed: mid or late 1944?
Are there known M42's stamped Quist ?
Regards,
Erwin
