Panzer Officers Visor - Opinions Please

I'm considering adding this one to my collection. It's not an Erel but I think it looks pretty nice.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Hi John, a nice looking cap. I cannot see anything wrong with it myself. But are you sure about the piping being Panzer? It looks more like the orange used by the feldgendarmerie to me; maybe it is just my monitor? Still a rare cap if it is
        Cheers, Ade.

It looks sort of burnt orange on my monitor.

No doubt about this one John. Clearly a nice crisp original.

The shade of the piping looks a little off on my monitor too. Better check
            it out.

Much more orange than pink for me too. I agree with Ade about the Feldgendarmerie ; orange was also used till 1939 for recruiting officers, "complement" officers (sorry, dunno the right english term), materiel services and units ('44-'45), etc... : very simple, as always !
              But very nice cap anyway...

                Panzer Cap

Thanks for the input guys. I'll double check but I'm told it is definately pink. I may have to just wait 'til I get it to see for myself. The one color that was throwing me is the "purple" on the bottom edge of the cap. It looks like purple anyway on my monitor. Do you guys see the same thing and is that typical?

Also the thread holding the sweatband at the front of the cap is coming unraveled a bit, is this something I should be concerned about?

                Thanks
                John

About the stitching, John; If you would rather hold out for a mint unissued
example, go ahead. You will certainly find one. But this cap was definitely
worn during the war (not in combat) and shows it. It is loaded with history,
and that is the way I like them. But different collectors have different tastes,
so you have only yourself to please. If you take good care of a cap like this,
it won't age at all during your ownership and should hold it's value quite well.

Now that you mention it, it does look purple. When I first looked at it this
morning I was in a hurry (work) and I didn't catch that. It should be grey
around that lower edge - a nice soft doeskin. I suspect the colors are just
off in the pics as the piping is off too. If it really is purple, you don't want it! That would indicate a post-war mishap with a bottle of ink or
                  some other tragedy.

This is a high-quality cap made from great materials. Personally, I find
combination insignia the most attractive. If everything checks out, let us
                  know!
