    M40 SD Shadow eagle

Is this the decal where the eagle has a shadow? Does it look real, how much would one in this condition cost?
    Thanks!

The decal is OK for me ; about the liner, it seems to be a late one... It would be interesting to know its date and the shell maker. Would it be a Q ?
One recently sold at the e-stand for $600 : it was a perfect one, "zero default" as we say here...

Personally, I do not trust the decal, the leather, or the drawstring. The color seems a little off as well. The liner looks artificially aged. I would pass on this one. It has also made a number of rounds on Ebay. I am curious about the maker as well...Tom.

I was looking at the same helmet. The seller said it's an EF64, the liner is dated 1941 and a size 57.

Can you please explain what it is exactly that you are "put off" by other than the artificial aging? What makes you think it is artificially aged? What should be the "right" color? The decal IMO is 100% correct.

              Please substantiate your claims.

                Hi Rolf,
by `shadow` i belive you mean the `grey lined` eagle which to my knowledge was applied to early D/D helmets, but i have not seen the applied to later or S/D helmets, but i could be wrong?

Just for note the grey lined eagle is found on mid-late war helmets, you will find a example of the black lined one on any vintage of where you'll find a grey lined one..
