    sidecap eagle question

    Hello,

I do not have these and I do not want to have them. I strongly believe they are repro. But for educational reasons: is there any chance that this method of attaching the eagle (backing not folded back) is original? On the other hand, if it looks so bad, a forger might not do this, or?

Maybe the answer is too obvious, but unfortunately not for me. So please, give me a hint

And how about these vent-holes for an M 34 with Soutache and darkgreen insignia? Do not look textbook, aren't they?

Hi Johannes, you are correct in your thoughts that both caps are very suspect. I have never seen any wartime photo or an original cap with insignia sewn that way. Insignia was very carefully applied either by hand or machine and with the backing neatly folded under.
The cap air vents are bad too.
          Cheers, Ade.
