Thank you for all your comments. While I was shocked to hear that a helmet I’ve had some 20+ years and believed to be an original Waffen-SS helmet now has a reproduction decal I was very disappointed. Especially since the “SS EXPERT OF TEXAS” told me at the time “this helmet was the REAL THING. I now wonder how many repro decal SS helmets he has in his collection??? Thank you once again for all your help. This was my 1<SUP>st</SUP> Waffen-SS helmet but the rest of my helmets are either Heer or Luftwaffe. I feel more comfortable with these as I bought my 1<SUP>st</SUP> Luftwaffe SD helmet in 1957 and my 1<SUP>st</SUP> Heer double decal in 1958. I’ll post some more helmets as time permits and I appreciate all comments both PRO & CON. Good thing we have WAF these days to share knowledge and experience aroung the world!

Michael, That certainly is big of you to have a positive attitude upon hearing the bad news concerning your SS helmet........It's not an easy thing to hear I'm sure, and on the flip-side, it's not always easy either to tell people the truth.....Just have to remember the better share of us have been in the same situation a time or two.....They're out there so let's hope one has your name on it.....Bodes

It has happened to all of us. if you got that 20 years ago, than that was one of the first with this type fake. It would have fooled most.
