Need help with a helmet.......

I saw this one for sale and noticed that it looks like a fake, not to mention the SS is on the wrong side isnt it.







These are all of the details I was given:

"This is a very good condition SS Camo. Model 42 Steel Combat Helmet up for Auction. It is marked inside EF 64 and 2251. The chinstrap is marked Hackenburg 1941 H Ruby and Co."

"I bought this Helmet from an SS collector years ago. He told me that it was from one of the Foreign Conscripted Units of the SS. He said that is why the SS Decal is reversed on the Helmet."

I agree better pictures are needed to be absolutely certain that this is crap.

For sure, even with those pictures, the liner is fake, and the chinstrap too.

Yeah Ken, that one was/is listed on gunbroker....load of dog poo IMO.

Yeah its from Gunbroker............I like the paint pattern, but I dont like the price or the SS on the wrong side. Seems a little expensive for a clone.........

I don't like the helmet either. Some SS foriegn volunteer units did wear the SS decal on the left side of the helmet, so real ones do exist.

I am glad that you young fellers have such good eyes, I can't tell a heck of a lot of anything about it from these pics.
