First let me appologize for not being able to provide photos of the items I am about to ask questions regarding. I am mainly an EK collector, so I was taken quite by surprise a few days ago when I went out to a local vets house to inspect some medals he had brought back with him. The medals panned out well, but as I was leaving, he said: "Wait...I think I have some helmets in here somewhere." Going back into his shed, he returned with two very nice German helmets. I have never dealt with helmets before, but know enough to say that one is a Police DD helmet with about 95% of its black paint. The eagle decal is about 85% and the swastica decal is about 80%. The other is a Heer I think. It is a SD with the decal being as close to 100% as can be after being in a shed for near 60 years. It seems to be painted an apple green color and both have liners and chinstraps intact. There are no stamps in the police helmet that I can detect but the Heer is stamped in the rim with Q64 and 475. I am not sure if it is Heer or not because in the photos I have looked at, Heer and KM decals look alot alike. I know that I am shooting in the dark here, but any info or corrections would be helpful. Also, if anyone could point me in a general price range for items like this, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi EKman,
about the police helmet; as it a lightweight helmet? Different airvents then the SD heer helmet?
about the SD helmet; I have attached a picture with a KM decal on the left side and a (toned) Heer decal on the right side. Hope this helps a little. The stamps in the Heer helmet indicate that the maker was Quist (Q) the 64 is the size of the helmet.

Yes, I believe that it is a heer decal, and as for the police helmet, it does have different air vents than the Heer. It has double sets of small holes that stradle the decals.Interested in candid/private Hitler, KIA, and Holocaust photos. Also any AH related memorabilia--silverware, linen, crystal, china...
All the best,
Chris
