          Robert -

The only potential problem with sharing your purchase price is that when they land on the e-stand for three times more, it ruffles feathers. Everybody (myself included) buys some things to re-sell, but I can't imagine the buyer will feel good knowing what he is paying vs. what YOU paid. Just my feeling on it. I;m sensitive too so maybe it's just ME!

          Nice lids!!

            Thanks Mike...

            These won't be on E-Stand.

I do collect helmets... plus money in the bank earns nothing.

The dollar is going down.... so... I am grabbing as much as I can.

My 401k lost 20% since the first of the year.

I rather look at these guys... than a declining quarterly statement

I'm with you... my 401k did the same thing, and I have it in conservative investments! I am buying all the QUALITY 3rd Reich stuff I can lay my hands on, because this market will have ups and downs but NEVER die. Plus, as you said... it's SO PRETTY!!

                The only bad part is...

I am running out of shelf space. I have nearly 100 German helmets alone.

                It's a problem I can live with.

I know there are quite a few forum members with nicer, and more helmets... but... I have to take what I can find.

very nice finds indeed. i love the decals

personally i do not care what you buy at and at the end of the day there is a market value for everthing , so if you ever did sell at market value good for you. thats what i think anyway. i have made profits and losses as im sure most have.

anyway whats stopping the guy who brought an item off you selling it at a profit. its happened to me more than once

                    Thanks Chris...

Yes... I have lost a lot of money on mistakes. Especially last year.

It usually happens when I venture out of my relm of collecting.

I am by no means an expert like many folks on the forum.

I can't look at a decal... and immediately know the maker of the shell.

A few years ago... I got burned on a Luft dagger on E-Bay.

I asked the guy if the "dagger is real." He said yes. The auction had a poor photo, and he did not take Pay Pal.

I sent payment.. and it was a poor reproduction you see at flea markets for $10 bucks.

I e-mailed him back to complain.

He said: "You asked if it was real. I feel if you can touch it, and feel it... it's real !!"

I wanted to choke the guy...

to borrow a line from Robert De Nero's character in 'Analyze This', "oh you're good! you're VERY good!"

                        Thanks for the comments guys.

Anybody familiar with this style of a RAD decal?

I'm not. Not to say it's fake or anywhere close to it. See anything like it in Baers book?

Baer has it down to a RAD decal. page 323. there's even a picture of this reissued decal over a Heer, just like yours!

                              Cool...

Too bad mine is not in better shape.

The liner/washers/rivets... can be replaced. The helmet needs to be cleaned up too. Surface rust to the top, etc.

                              I appreciate the help... Robert

I went on the Net to find the RAD decal... but... they appear to have been larger... with full wings?

                                Here's an example:

                                http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Polit...s/N055459.html

It doesn't look like the portion of the wings were scratched off after application.

Maybe this is a variation, or the decal was trimmed prior to putting on the shell?
