    Paint research.

Today I went to Brussels , to a lab that can determine age on metals , stones , woods , all kinds of materials.
I asked if there is a way to determine if you can see how old paint is.
Yes , we all know why I want to know this ...
Anyway , I want to see if I can research this.
Does anybody know if there has been such research done , and does anybody know anything on the paint that they used that time ?
if it was mineral or organic , and if they just used what was there , or had allways the same paint ( wich I find hard to believe).
And did they stop to use that kind of paint , or they still use it.
Since they didnt start to fake the camo helmets for a long time .
Let me know what you guys think ,
    Rob.

    Here's an interesting thread Rob.

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=258353

About the paint: of course they used different paint but the main think is that they used most of time a paste that was mixed with oil, benzine, or water: so you won't find always the same colors.
    Hope this help.

all though the ral codes that the germans used are the same the paint would have varied from batch to batch so no batch of helmets would have been the same colour.paint can be tested but its expensive (UNLESS YOU HAVE A HIGH DOLLAR CAMO THAT HAS BEEN SLATED RECENTLY).
