I have a M-35 police helmet that has a dome stamp 1939. Is it proper to have a 1940 dated zinc banded liner in this helmet?

it is likely to have an alu liner in it but not imposible to have and steel liner.
do you need a liner or is the liner already in this helmet ?
I have a 39 dated liner here but its a small size... -
The liner is not in the helmet as i got it without the liner. It is a size 62 shell and would need a 62 liner band.
