why cant i post attachtchments as i need an opinion on a m35 ss DD helmet

first thoughts

Without getting the books out, here are my thoughts.

Decals - first glance looks promising

Paint- not sure about kind of looks too nice

Liner- looks a little dark for a a helmet with that nice of a finish and paint

Dome Stamp- here is where my flag goes up. It's a little too obvious for me. I've had some minty helmets, but never one with that obvious of a dome stamp.

So, if the dome stamp looks added to me, it kind of makes me wonder if the paint job is any good, which leads to the decals, and so on.

As for price. If real, try $10-12k+.

I missed that as well. I was not aware this was a Q shell. If it is in fact a Q shell, then I absolutely agree with Dan.

Do you think the ET decal is a fake or just post war applied?

post war applied ss decal if that is not the recent ish " crushed glass fake " im basing this as the paint is recovered and the dome stamp is awfull along with the masive borders.

But in any circumstance its been messed with.

hi Dave, the party shield is fake, the runes look like original , but post war applied.the rivets holding the liner in place look to be steel,the liner is a replacement,and the helmet has been resprayed.

1,party shield has no white base to it.
2,cracks in runes decal.
3,rivets are wrong dome shape for brass rivets.
4,rust pitting under paint next to air vent and decal.
5, its a PIG.

MY REAL GUT FEELING IS THAT THE RUNES ARE FAKE AS WELL, CAUSE A REAL SS RUNES DECAL MUST BE WORTH THE BEST PART OF A 1000 BUCKS RETAIL, AND YET THE PERSON WHO MADE THIS THING UP, HAS USED A BAD FAKE PARTY SHIELD, WHEN REAL PARTY SHIELDS ARE EASY TO GET HOLD OF, WHY USE A 10 DOLLAR PARTY SHIELD WITH A 1000 DOLLAE SET OF RUNES.
STEEL FAKE STEEL RIVETS ARE MORE ROUNDED AND THICKER AROUND THE EDGE/RIM OF THE RIVET HEAD.
AS FOR THE FACTORY PAINTING A RUST PITTED HELMET BEFORE THE WAR, I DONT THINK SO.

Hi i cant make sense of a real decal being applied Bryan im sure you are correct but the decal in question shows some good things and then a very thick border . it bears no good flags
