Relics of Festung Brest

Here are some pictures of relics , found in Crozon Peninsula,(no bodies with!) In the main German defense line. No comment

Nice to see you here Herlé, c'est chouette d'avoir de nouvelles têtes ! Thanks for sharing these lids, they talk much about the hard fights that took place before the "Festung Brest" was conquered (it's there that Ramcke surrended, if I'm not wrong ?). Well if I'm right, those buildings belonged to the army (the marine) till recently. Now I don't know, it's maybe a cultural center or a modern art studio...
Maybe Herlé can give us an answer ? According to him (and I know he's well informed), at the beginning of 1944 the KM had 11,718 men in Brest, plus 2,400 workers in the arsenal (first pic) and 800 more as civil servants and technicians. That makes a lot of people... All were affected in Marine Infanterie Regimenter during the invasion.

PS : yes, even if it's rusted, I think the chicken wire is original to the helmet here... The exception that confirms the rule !

Hi all,
THe Brest U bunker is still in the French Naval base (and normally it's forbidden to take picture of it ), if you want to visit one U bunker, you must go to Lorient...
