m40 luft, strange shell?

Hello all!

I have m40 luft, and the front of te helmet there is flat line over the helmet.
Other m40's I have do not show this. Or is this normal for a EF shell?

Looks to have been crimped with too much force in this area. I would just consider it a period flaw in the shell.
