vent question

Hi guys,

First, i want to tahank you all for your great input. Lots of good information but I wonder about the vent of helmets. I have a couple of helmets now and they are from different makers (Thale and Quist). One is a M35 (Thale) and the other a M40 (Quist). I noticed the vent is not at the same place. On one helmet it is closer to the rivets and higher (Thale) and the other is further away and lower than the previous one (Quist). Both helmets have also different sizes (62 Thale and 60 Quist). The Thale one is a Whermacht and the Quist one is a Gray matte Lufthwaffe. Thanks again for your input on this one! Denis

This may be heresy; but German Helmet Walhalla has a diagram showing some of the differences such as this by manufacturer. It's in their first section, and though not very detailed it's still interesting. It shows the "centers" of the helmet profiles vary a great deal. I only wonder how true it holds for the various models. ( M35, M40, M42 )

Hi James, I tried ot find it on walhalla but I oculd not find this section. Could you please help me out with this one like put it a an attachment or tell me how to get to this diagram. I would greatly appreciate your help on this one. Thanks denis
