    M43 opinions please 2

    Se the previos thread about "m43 opinions please".....this is my piece and it have the same Rbn number......i beginnig to have doubts about my cap now.....

    The cockarde is missing, you can see the "ghost" where it was, i hasnt been able to find a cockarde that is NOT mint to add to this cap.

            ...it seems to me that this feldmutze is the twin for the characteristics of the one presents on the other threat...
            I'm thinking that Sweden is the common factor in this story...aren't you?

              Something is definitely wrong here.....2 caps with the same RBn-number, probably both fake, and both from Sweden.

              I just hate when pieces in your own collection turns out to be fake!!!

                I would say there are sufficient "concerns" here, and between the 2 M43s, to be highly suspicious. Note both the Heer and Luft single buttons have the EXACT crude button hole stitch for the single button. Single button Luft M43s, or more properly, Bergmützen, were mostly early issue (like 1942)....must say that most I have seen were maker marked, and not RBNred.

                    Most that I have seen do not have vent holes. There is a debate about vent holes where many say these occured only in bergmutzes. However, I have seen some M43s with the vents, but they are unusual at least in the samples I have seen over the years.
                    I love the beach.
