Introduction.

Hi.

I have a stamp on the inside of my NCO Peaked cap that reads "gepruft 3./J.R. 54" . Coluld someone help me what the markings mean , i know that it stand for some regiment, any story to that regiment???

I also want to introduce myself , my name is Daniel Sagatowski and ive been collecting German militaria for some 10 years now, i had mostly medals then but now im only collecting headgear (will ad some pictures of the collection ASAP. As i live 5 min from Peter v Lukacs i buy most of mine headgear there.

This marking indicates the visor cap was a private purchase item & as stipulated by regulation, the soldier submitted it for approval with his unit, 3rd Company, Infantry Regiment 54, I believe. The stamp certifies that it conformed to regulations and was approved for use.
