Help with Id on a Visor

I'm digging in the trunk again. Can anyone help id this visor??

This is how it looks coming out of the trunk. When looking at the front the braid has come off the right side. Not sure if I should put it back on or leave it? Advice?

    thank you for your help,
    Jack

Looks like a very nice original Panzer enlisted/nco visor cap that someone has replaced the standard leather chinstrap with an officer's style chinstrap. The black side buttons are typical of an enlisted/nco cap...a true officer's version should have pebbled aluminum buttons. Some folks could argue that the officer's cord may have been installed during the war for use when the NCO was promoted to officer rank. Just as likely, this might be done by a modern collector to upgrade a cap.

Re-attaching the present chinstrap is as simple as passing the loop over the button...replacing it with a proper leather chinstrap if desired, is a little more problematic.

        Is the cap for sale?

Thank you Paul for the info.

I'm pretty sure the strap change was not done by a modern collector The visor has been sitting in a trunk since 1970 when my grandfather passed away. I have the original capture certs for the visor with my grandfather's name on it. Narrows it down to 2 scenarios:
1)officer's cord may have been installed during the war for use when the NCO was promoted to officer rank
          2) My grandfather thought the officers strap look better and installed it either at time of capture or post war. More likely at time of capture since he very rarely pulled the items out according to my mother. He wasn't a collector.

I'm afraid the cap is not for sale. More of a family heirloom.

thank you again for your time and knowledge,

          Jack

Who knows the scenerio but it is a regular EM visor, I would say the visor looks to have been picked up from unissued stock, you can tell it's never been used much if not at all...just a little flattened by storage...cool piece..
