    Opinions on this hemet?

Since I might have opened a can of worms in another thread I might as well put this in the right section. Opinions on this helmet anyone?

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

I am truely going to enjoy learning from this thread. I'm still on the learning curve, but this decal doesn't look right to me either. "100%" finish? I'm looking forward to hearing what the long time helmet guys say about this one. As I'm looking at the pictures, the paint is NOT 100%. Also, how does one advertise a helmet as truely mint, then comment that he is investigating the decal and liner for authenticity?

Can you perhaps supply a better image of the decal here on the forum?

I have no idea about the helmet but - judging from other pieces I have seen during my collecting days - I think the description "mega mint" is stretching the sales pitch a little bit.

But hey, I look at the good side: If that is "mega mint" I'm "super mega mint" - and I'm 55!

Simple: I modified the listing, as an HONEST dealer, once questions arose. Will be glad to take photos on Monday and post. I also started a topic on GDC about the helmet also, so that it could be discussed.

Please keep in mind that in no thread or post have I ever questioned your honesty!
What I am questioning here is the legitimacy of your description of the helmet.
It is a bit difficult to discuss the merits of a "mint, unissued" helmet, when the dealer that is offering it also says he is investigating it for authenticity. It is either mint, or not!

No, Johnnie - no offense taken. You just didn't follow the progression of the listing. It was listed, questioned, then I modified the listing, then you saw it. No quesiton it could have confused you, the way it was written. I always say, mistakes can happen (not sure if this is one), but I am very careful not to allow a bad piece out of my hands, advertised as good, so when I question arises, I always "pull" the item just to be safe, until the issue can be addressed. I also posted links to both discussions, so they could be followed by interested parties.

Well I know price should not be discussed again but that is what put this on the radar. I recently bought a M40 SD with a “real” 99% decal in much better condition than this “Mega mint”and it was truly untouched with chinstrap from another forum member for $800. So $1,900, go figure.

Craig I said this before. You dig your own grave with these delusional descriptions and prices. If you continue with the dramatic descriptions and wild prices you will always have those who will question your items.

Hey, NTZ - I guess we want to entertain people again here, instead of make the discussion about the helmet. I for one don't believe that an item's price should be the determining factor of whether or not a piece is discussed, or whether or not authenticity issues should be noted. I don't care if the helmet was $599. If it's no good, it's no good. That's my opinion.

                            O.K. Craig,
Fair enough. Interested to see how this helm fares.

You are correct but it is the attention drawn by the price that makes one do a double take. Do you need a business manager?
