Trenches and shell/bomb craters. Most items are collected up and dumped into these holes during and after the battles.

This is a German bunker where people lived, it is deep with a stove.

Jean-Loup thank you posting this article on the finding of falling WW2 soldiers and their reburial, I was very impress on the service that was held by the Russians, and it saddens me that they only recover very low numbers of soldiers that are identified, and the mass numbers that are unknown.
