Roy,
In my opinion it's a bad one. Decal is not at all like a second pattern runes shield should be. The shield is very much out of proportion and the silver field looks to be constructed of a tin-foil type material. I believe the decal has been added to a good no decal M42.Comment

I'll try to get better pics.
The angle of the decal shots distorts the proportions somewhat (and the lighting sucks).

Yes, I agree with Chris...it doesn't look any better to me either, unfortunately. The shield looks very wide and squat and the runes are almost blurred around the edges...especially at the bottom.
It now looks like it may be one of those dry-transfer style decals which are "rubbed" onto the surface. Try a little test - take a sharp pin and gently scratch the surface of the silver shield somewhere that isn't too obtrusive. If it comes off easily like a pastey substance then it's a dry-transfer. As an original it should be rock hard and resistant to any scratching.Comment
