    Winter Camos

I was curious if anyone could share with us a winter camo lid. I find that these are extremely rare. I would be interested in seeing whitewashed or white painted ones. It seems most were whitewashed with the white remains just left in the cracks of the helmet.
Attached are pictures from my M-35 that was camo'ed white for winter and recamo'ed green for the spring. Love this helmet, has an aliniumium liner dated 1940.

That is a cool helmet, very honest looking...I'm afraid all mine that were whitewashed only have traces or runs on the inside left...

very nice helmet indeed! Just imaging all the combat-theatres this one could have been, that's why I like those salty named veterans so much...

          great piece,Ty, thanks for sharing!

          cheers

seems like there are two layers of white-wash?

Gailen David has an M42 winter camo police combat helmet for sale, evidently originally purchased from Bill Shea.
                    NOT cheap.

Yes, I saw that one. I was thinking of getting it and that was what got me thinking of starting this thread.

                        snow camo

                        Jan,
The helmet is an M-35 reissue which may explain why you think there are two layers, the darker color is the reissue paint the lighter Is the original under the reissue paint, which are both under the snow paint ! Huh?...It may be the lighter paint is not paint at all but the original shell steel, also, I think the police snow camo has been sold, Cody , I believe purchased it.
                        thanks
                        Michael

Here is my M40 army single decal snow camo (paint - not whitewash) that I recently put up for sale on Ebay. It only reached $325 so obviously everyone thought it was a fake. Does somebody know something that I don't, as it looks fine to me. It's a very small size 60 shell but surely it is still worth more than that?

Sorry, I should have re-sized the picture to make it a bit smaller!

I see nothing wrong with it at all. If I would have seen it on ebay I would have tried to get it for that. The decal looks rather gold to me. I have never seen a winter KM helmet? Do you have any close-ups of the decal?
