Help~! 1943 Eastern Front M42 ?

Hi,

Please tell me what do you think about this M42 Stahlhelm, and what is the "6" that stamped at the left side skirt rim? Thanks!

Original German wartime issued M42 helmet that has been rebuilt and used after the war by the Norweigans. Looks like a Norweigan strap. The liner has been dyed and restamped also. The green is not original german paint, but Norweigan paint.

That extra #6 looks like it was stamped after the norwegian paint was applied. Possibly a rack number for guards.

I have one of these also. It was cheap, it's in great condition and I like it a lot.
