M35 DD camo?

Hello guys!

I need your help. I found me a M35 DD Wehrmacht. I have pictures of it but I can't post them (yet )

The helmet is original, the liner too. I am sure about that. Looks like it is a camo-helmet. On the helmet there is also a white label attached, this is from the soldier who owned this helmet.

This is on the label;
"Mein Stahlhelm, den ich vor dem Kriege, in Frankreich, Balkan, Rußland getragen habe.
Wurde mir 1943 mit ????gepäck nachgeschickt."


Looks to me that there are two kind of paints on top of the decals. White and green. I think he painted the helmet white when he was in Russia, and then Green when he came back to Europe.

What do you all think? It is an original helmet isn't is? ( these days you don't know things for sure )

A perfect salty WH helmet, Dennis. 1000 % right. And even if the label is post-war, it is a great "plus" for this lid IMO.
White wash for winter use was often a "water paint" : thus it was possible to remove it easilly when it was no more useful ; traces sometimes remain, mainly around the rivets and ventholes. But a classic paint could also be used ; in this case, the helmet would have been repainted at the new season, or for a different operations field. Better close-up pics of the helmet would be very interesting here.
Anyway, another plus for this one, I like it much !

I asked the seller for better pictures of the helmet self so I hope I get them very soon.

Here two more photos from Dennis ; I choosed the most useful ones, Den. Apparently, the helmet was paint white, then feldgrau again. From what I can see of these pictures, the white layer of paint didn't recover the eagle decal, but the last one did. Quite logical behaviour IMO.
