    M35 D/D Heer SE68

This has been a GREAT month for helmets! This one was just paid for and is en route... a size 68 Heer D/D with the shield factory painted over and the eagle decal painted around! Look at that original single band liner! What do you guys think she's worth? I am considering getting the collection insured now that I have some decent pieces. Thanks - Mike

            Nice helmet...

I was offered this helmet for $1000 after the auction was canceled... and turned it down.

Still thought the price was high...

The seller contacted you and said you could have it for $1,000 and you turned it down? THANK YOU!!!!!

It got to $750 in a matter of hours, because on sites like the Collector's Guild, this will command at least 2k. I want to know if it's worth more than that. The 68 size adds a lot.

Yes... He said offers over $1000.

There were several DD army helmets in Pomona that were unsold at $1100... that appeared to be nicer.

Auctions that will be pulled often skyrocket in price... Often... for more than they are worth.

No offense.... but... $750 in a few hours... doesn't mean it will reach $100,000 over the course of 7 days.

Here's the guys e-mail and name that made the offer:

                @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

I had an offer of $1000.00 from an Ebay member in Illinois. If you want to make an offer over that, I will accept this morning. Would need to have payment sent to PAYPAL to complete.

                Regards,
                Mike M@@@@@@

There was a military show in Pomona California last week.

                    It's normally a good show.

A friend of mine had two tables... and I was bored to death. Didn't find much... and not much to see (IMO)

Here's the item number that got yanked..

Mike, get a big gunsafe and bolt it to your cement garage floor. You can keep lots of good stuff in there and be sure they will be there when you return home....! You can get a decent one for $1000 to $1500 or so that is about 5 feet tall, 3 feet across, and a couple of feet deep. Put a golden rod in there to guard against humidity and you got it made.....!
For the price of one good helmet you can protect 20-30 helmets from the elements and thieves....! Regards, Chris

2K is a bit high for a standard reissue lid , if you got it for 750$ than you did well.

                        Nice lid , what's the lotnr ?

Collector's Guild prices are often insane and few helmets sell at those prices. I think $1000 is a fair price for a reissue helmet of this type. I would not value this helmet much higher than that, perhaps $1200 considering the size.

It looks like the lot # is 3064.

Helmet prices are funny, and now that the e-stand is in a recession you certainly can't use that as a guide. Collector's Guild is at the higher end of the spectrum but things usually get sold there eventually.

A WAF buddy had a nice M40 S/D Heer at the SOS for $1,200. I have a friend that will pay me $300 for any clean 68 shell I come across. Yes, the SHELL.

I think the giant size, nice eagle decal, naturally revealed shield, and rarer single aluminum band make this one that most folks would love to have.

                            I like it!

The prices at collector's guild have always been insane...

Like earlier said, you'll be lucky to get $1000 for it.

Did you buy for collecting purposes or reselling purposes?
