Tell him the paint is modern made and the liner is a modern day reproduction. On the positive side that rusty shell that has been painted over was made in Germany during the 40's.

I think it was patterned after this:

Hello ,I said fake because it has a lot of problems but if you want details, fake decal so fake paint , "strange" inside etc ...
I must sadly say other helmets posted on the estand have issues , bad Q decals , fake insides , the Lw looks OK but better pics could help
          Sorry again for the news

The decal is clearly a fake. The paint is as well.

I doubt it, The helmet painter does a much more convincing job than this. Helmet is silly looking.

Hey militaria1940, stick around here and you'll learn a lot from these guys....! If you want a real helmet buy one off of the Estand here. Lots of good folks will sell you a helmet at a fair price. I've bought many a helmet here from Matt M., Andy H., Cody G., and "ItalianWarFront" and I have not been sorry. Good people here all around....! And the opinions on your helmet are right on, bad any way you look at it. Sell it on Ebay as a reproduction and use the money towards a real helmet. Regards, Chris

                          Luc,
The helmet you posted is clearly a fake, so much so it is laughable. Liner, new paint and painted around decal (also fake), all give it away immediately. Wash your hands of that helmet and send it back where it came from.

                            HI

Just a few thoughts guys. As a skilled spraypainter I will clarly tell you that this is post war done.
I have seen examined and owned camos. The camo shown schreams to you as the colors have much more of a signal than a camo effect.
The colors do not blend at all. The type of the color is also suspicious but note that the ral code of for example german yellow could be found with different color variations and should not be considered as unoriginal.
Sometimes they used civilian paint, total different from regulations.
Only experience can give thumbs up or down on most of those..
