Army M35 DD SE for review

Hi,

i would like to get some opinions on this helmet and - of course - the decals.
I personally think it is a good one.

Decals look fine but are you sure it's a SE ? If it's a SE , do you think it could be a refurbished 35 ?

i'll have a look at it again later today, but i think it is a SE and i thinks it is prewar refurbished.

This helmet was probably produced in early 1940 when the transition was taking place from the M35 to the M40. It is an M35 with M40 style paint. At this time is when the few DD M40s were produced.

Hello H , I'm waiting for your confirmation but your answer is what I was expecting As Larry said , it could be a latter refurbished ,even if it still has an early liner

Hi Francis,
What do you mean by early liner? to me it looks like it has a zinc band liner, (that, along with the "reissue" eagle and the presence of the shield would also confirm it as very early DD reissue).

you surely can be rigth , I thought I saw squarre buckles and "bright" ring , may be my old eyes .If it's zinc , as Larry said , it's a 40 reissue .anyway , it has features I wanted to see on a refurbished , not a "factory" issue SE (if it is)

i couldn't see a date because the liner fits perfect in the shell and i can't move it to see the date.
